This series consists of eleven slideshow presentations that document the annual 4-H camps and conferences. Many of the images document the delegates at meetings, including gatherings in consultant groups that were held as part of efforts to improve the 4-H program (33-FS-7-3-54 through 33-FS-7-3-60). Additionally, there are photographs that document the delegates' tour of Washington, DC. Included are images of the cherry blossoms, and the Lincoln Memorial, especially the statue of President Abraham Lincoln inside the memorial (33-FS-3-1-4, 33-FS-3-1-5; 33-FS-3-6-109, 33-FS-3-6-15, and 33-FS-6-2-25). The delegates are also pictured visiting the Washington National Cathedral (33-FS-11-1-13 and 33-FS-11-1-14); the Jefferson Memorial (33-FS-9-2-35); Vietnam Veterans Memorial (33-FS-7-1-16 and 33-FS-9-2-36); and lying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (33-FS-11-1-9). Additional views document the youths touring Washington DC, and include color images of the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial (33-FS-10-4-64); the Supreme Court Building (33-FS-10-4-70); flowers placed at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (33-FS-10-4-66); the dome of the United States Capitol (33-FS-10-4-67); and an image taken at night of the Washington Monument from a distance (33-FS-10-4-62). Among the prominent individuals the youth met while visiting the Washington, DC area are American astronaut Ellison Onizuka, a former 4-H member from Hawaii who carried 4-H flags with him on his first mission into space and back (33-FS-8-3-56). Also, the 4-H'ers had an opportunity to listen to retired Chief Justice Warren E. Burger. Justice Burger is pictured giving the opening address at the 1988 National Conference (33-FS-9-1-20 and 33-FS-9-1-21). There are no presentations for 1980 through 1982. Copies of typed scripts are filed with the records.
